katarína smatanová [2014 – ]

Ing.arch. Katarína Smatanová, MA., PhD. besides her teaching at the Faculty of architecture STU she works as a government expert in the field of regional development. Katarina is also a stubborn practitioner of social sustainability in architecture and urban planning. She lectures at home and abroad, in the past she worked in R&D teams cooperating on search for new methods of participatory planning and experimental design in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Dheli. 

 

ján urban [2016/17]

Ing.arch. Ján Urban – after 6 semesters of studying psychology he switched to architecture. He graduated 2016 after studying at FA STU and TU Munich. Currently started his PhD. studies on the Institute of Urban Design and Planning. His focus is on improving the quality of life in settlements via design. He is active in NGOs (CEF – dunajsky fond, go-ok), has experience with work in several studios and is also involved in a process of revitalizing public space in the town of Hlohovec.

 

 

 

oľga rychterová  [2014/15]

Ing.arch. Oľga Rychterová, PhD. after completing her studies at FA STU in Bratislava and Arkitekturskolan KTH in Stokholm worked for 9 years as architect and project manager in several domestic and foreign offices (AK I.Pleidel Šaľa, ELD Partnership Antwerp, AVK architects Bratislava).  2011 – 2015 she worked as assistant professor at the Institute of Urban Design and Urban Planning of FA STU where she actively seeked to link education with practice. Based on her initiative there had been innovated seminars of Urban design I. and methodic of urban design  studio in the 3rd and 5th year of study in projects “The city and the river” and “Let mass housing lives”. Except for pedagogics she is systematically involved in research of mixed use urban structures and she regularly presents achieved results at domestic and foreign scientific forums (e.g. IFME Helsinky, RSA Londýn, AESOP Dublin, etc.).
